GOVR's Fallout 4 VR launch party: Bringing the Wasteland to Brighton
December 2017 saw the release of one of the most highly anticipated VR games of the year, Fallout 4 VR. We knew this one was going to be popular and we were not disappointed! GOVR brought Fallout 4 to C:/SideQuest, one of Brighton’s most exciting gaming hubs located on the seafront by the Brighton Pier.
Joined by JadeKVR, we celebrated the launch of Fallout 4 VR by bringing the game directly to a community of dedicated fans.
Jade kicked off the night by leading us through the unveiling of the game and playing through Fallout 4 VR’s nail-biting opening. Players then took turns exploring the Wasteland, fighting radiated monsters and rebuilding the post-apocalyptic world. One player even took down a Deathclaw! We had quite a few veteran players join in who said they were blown away by the immersion of the game.
We closed the night with a raffle for a free ticket to GOVR’s monthly VR Garage Day, Brighton’s most affordable, high quality virtual reality arcade popup.
Our Fallout 4 VR launch party was a great success. The event got coverage in local press as well as on VRFocus. A number of the players that attended the event told us later on that they went on to buy their own copies of Fallout 4 VR to play at home.
Special thanks to Bethesda for providing us with Fallout 4 VR for the night, and to JadeKVR for coming down from London and helping create a really fun atmosphere at the event. Make sure you check out her awesome work on her YouTube channel.
